Gov. Brown Signs California Vaccine Bill SB 277

Not without it’s own questionable history, the contentious vaccine bill of California was signed into law today by Go. Jerry Brown, effectively mandating vaccine for all children in the state that attend public school.

Interestingly, the bill was passed in the senate YESTERDAY. Rarely does a bill get rushed to the governors desk so quickly after completing the senate process. Makes one wonder why the big rush?

We wish we could conclusively answer that.

Gov. Brown was honest on one point when he said, “while it’s true that no medical intervention is without risk, the evidence shows that immunization powerfully benefits and protects the community.”

What is noteworthy about that is the screaming irony that somehow vaccines are pitched as “completely safe and effective” yet he acknowledges that “NO medical intervention is without risk” (emphasis added, of course).

It is clear this issue has not seen it’s last day in California.

What say you on the matter?
